Greatland Laser has provided our team with it's Rescue Laser Flare™ for training and mission use. This device can be used for signaling (since it can be seen for 20 miles at night, 3 miles in the daytime). Our team is most interested in it's application as a SAR tool - it can detect reflective material up to a mile away at night, making it a great tool for a hasty search at night when the victim is known to be wearing reflective clothing.

The Rescue Laser Flare™ is rugged and waterproof to 80 feet, making it ideal for use in the field. It is approximately the same size as a 2-AA flashlight, so it can be easily attached to a helmet using common mounting brackets. Field reports on this device, and a training plan will be available on our website soon.
